Ribble Valley Lodge
Where to go locally for great...
Food and Drink

Stock up on the basics
Sainsbury's or Aldi
Both in Longridge about 5 minute drive away. There's a small Co-Op too on Longridge High Street and a health food store down the far end.

Buy some posh treats
Booths
We love going to Booths. Its more pricey but at the end of the day look out for the yellow label offers especially at the hot meat counter. Roast chicken in a bag - yum!

Afternoon Tea
Potters Barn, Ribchester
Ideal for young familes because it adjoins the park with its play-park, tennis court and football pitches. Fantastic snacks, cakes and friendly service, plus pottery painting for a rainy day.

Light Lunch
The Glasshouse
This is the place to go if you want a lunch-time treat and a glass of wine. Its indoor space is literally under glass - too hot in summer but warm in winter.

Craft Beers & locals at...
The Tap & Vent
We love this bar because its an after work gathering place for all kinds of Longridge locals from farmers to business owners. Very friendly and superb local and international beers.

Try the tapas at...
Fullaloves Wine Bar
Tucked away in a cul-de-sac off Longridge High Street is this atmospheric wine bar. Lots of interesting wines to try or buy and guests have told us the tapas is great.

A quality night out nearby
Stage Door
Highly innovative cocktail bar off Longridge High Street that puts on all kinds of fun nights, screenings and acts. Try one of their uniques recipe cocktails, we daren't!

Great breakfast at...
The Derby Arms
If you go in winter, you will not want to leave this pub. Real fires, local beer, very good food. Especially worth a visit on a rainy morning for a leisurely English Breakfast and a flat-white. You can walk to it from the Lodge, takes 40 mins or so, see google maps.

Fancy a Sunday Roast?
The Dog Inn
Guests tell us the pub food is great here, especially the Sunday roasts. Its also the nearest pub to the Lodge so you can walk back if needs be (take a torch just in case).

A bit further away, the legendary
Inn at Whitewell
Our family has long been connected with this fabulous hostelry, owned by the Bowman Family for years. Our favourite spot is the patio which looks out across The Ribble to the green pastures of The Trough of Bowland. The late Queen Elizabeth had lunch here her during her 80th year.

If we go out for curry it has to be the...
Shajan
Again a strong family connection, as we grew up on the same road as this award winning Indian Restaurant and know the proud owner of it. Book in advance as its a go to for curry lovers for miles around.
